Introduction to Communications & Writing |
|
The Sumatran culture in Ancient Mesopotamia invented the world’s first writing systems in approximately 8000BC. With an increase in population numbers and due to The Neolithic Revolution, life became more complicated. This drove people to eventually develop writing, which was used to record certain information such as trade transaction literature etc. in order to maintain an organised lifestyle. Writing was used extensively throughout Mesopotamia with enough clay tablets to fill libraries, as they believed it was important to record information. However thousands of years ago, with limited technology and resources Mesopotamians had to use what was available to them to develop this basic civilisation feature which was evolved over time and shaped the world we live in today. Archeologists have discovered some of the remains of the writing styles. The information recorded has been deciphered and has given us a greater insight into the lives they lived.
